Type 3 Family Zone

Dear friends,

“The Family Zone” has been developed by parents of children and young people with Type III Gaucher disease in the UK. It aims to bring families, carers and those with Type III GD from all over the world together, into a community. Within the Family zone you can all can freely and privately share information, initiate discussions, and ask questions on all aspects of Type III Gaucher disease. It will allow you to ask families about different issues affecting you and your families, which may be helpful in dealing with Type III GD.

We also hope to post information on research and potential developments and therapies for Type III GD.

Who is the Type 3 Family Zone For?

The family zone is only open to parents and carers who have a child with confirmed diagnosis of Type III Gaucher disease and to those with Type III GD who are over 18 years old.

Subscription to the family zone must be applied for. If you would like to apply to become a member please complete the simple form below and once you have read and agreed the terms and conditions of the forum please submit your application.

After your application has been approved you will receive an invite via email, allowing you to sign up for access to the forum. Emails will come from info@gaucher.org.uk, so please add this to your email provider safe list. If you don't recieve an email within a few days, please check junk mail boxes.

How does the site work?

  • Once accepted onto the site you can create topics for discussions with other parents, carers and patients of Type III Gaucher disease.
  • When a user creates a discussion topic they will have the option to tick a box to request that they wish to receive an e-mail if someone replies to their topic.
  • When a user replies to a discussion topic they will have two options : 1) To receive an e-mail when a reply is made to their specific reply only or 2) To receive an e-mail if anyone replies to the discussion topic they replied to.
  • We have set up the site so that everyone who subscribes to the site does not receive a copy of every single reply posted.
  • Each month all subscribers will receive a newsletter highlighting all the discussion topics raised during the month and a link to each.
