Patient & Family Support Service

For over 30 years the Gauchers Association has offered Members and their family members a first-class advocacy and support service, with practical and emotional support including benefits, education, and hospital appointments. We were delighted to add our partnership with Rare Minds at the end of 2021 that offers our community a counselling service that can help with many challenges when living with a rare disease from diagnosis, isolation, day to day living challenges plus many other challenges patients and families are faced with.

After 3 years working as an integral and highly valued part of the Association team, Claire Bickley has sadly departed for pastures new, following which we have taken the opportunity to consider how we provide our Patient and Family Support Service moving forward.

The Gauchers Association has decided to team up with the MPS Society that have a highly experienced team of advocacy workers with expertise in many areas including, benefit applications and tribunals, special educational needs, housing issues and independent living support. We believe this new partnership will ensure that the needs of our Members and their family members continue to be met as we find ourselves in an ever changing environment as the benefits systems evolve and the needs of our community change.
